VSDF Funding Open

Coronavirus Support for Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations

Covid 19 has had a negative impact on voluntary sector organisations in many ways. We are seeking to use this opportunity to understand what support your organisation needs to help recover over the coming months.

What can this fund support?

This small grants programme will provide successful applicants with funding up to the value of £4,000 to help those organisations that are able to sustain, refocus and / or expand their organisation to support local residents affected by the coronavirus. Small or local charities are invited to apply to receive a grant of £250 to £4,000 for specific coronavirus relief projects.

If you are seeking more than £4000, please explain what you are seeking so that we can help signpost to alternative funds. Capital requests can apply for funding up to a maximum of £1,000.

Who is eligible to apply?

Any voluntary or community organisation active in Thurrock can apply for a grant.

Applications are invited from groups that are able to demonstrate:

  • Offset the loss of income through Covid e.g. the closure of premises, inability to hold fundraising events, continuation of charges from other bodies.
  • Sustain, refocus and/or expand their organisation to clearly and positively help Thurrock residents affected by the effects of the virus during and after  – please ensure to provide some evidence of the need you plan to support
  • Maximum community benefit for the grant invested
  • Involvement of people from different parts of the community working together
