Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic DIAL have had to cancel all of their Outreach Desks, Coming Together Groups and Home Visits due to the possible spread of the Coronavirus and are unable to see anybody in person. However if you would still like help and advice you can still telephone the main office number on 0333 366 1045 between 10am – 3pm Monday to Friday. You can also ring or text the mobile on 07786 088538 or email  enquiries@dialsouthessex.co.uk or if it is relating to an appeal sally@dialsouthessex.co.uk  If your call is not answered please leave a message and one of the staff will ring you back as soon as they can.

Support

If you would still like help to complete your PIP, DLA, ESA50, UC50 or Attendance Allowance forms, a Mandatory Reconsideration Form or an SSCS1 form for an appeal please contact DIAL using one of the above methods and they can arrange to complete the form for you over the telephone or by email.  If you would like help then when you contact, they will arrange a convenient day and time with you. There will still be support for other general enquiries and they can provide the up to date relevant information relating to help available in your area for issues relating to the Coronavirus.

Additional funding from Essex Community Foundation and the National Lottery Community Fund has allowed DIAL to continue their normal activities in new ways and they have now started a new project to continue and expand their Coming Together groups.  This will be by way of virtual workshops and through the supply of arts and craft materials to participate in the group activities.  DIAL will continue to do as much as we can to keep you busy with art, crafts, Sudoku, crosswords and other activities and try to have contact online with as many of you as we can.  We hope this will still help a large number of people and we hope to get back to full service as soon as possible. If you would like to get more information about our online social groups, clubs and possibly outdoor meetings (weather and guidelines permitting), please contact Kasia on 07340904805 or email kasia@dialsouthessex.co.uk. Please, share with us photos from your activities.

Tablets , Internet Access & fINANCIAL SUPPORT

DIAL are able to supply, to those people who fit certain criteria, a tablet and broadband connection to participate in group activities and chats who would otherwise remain isolated and excluded.

For anybody that is really struggling and needs some immediate financial help for food, toiletries, gas or electric key or card top ups, one off costs associated with hospital travel or similar then please contact DIAL.

DIAL have a small hardship fund that they can allocate to people that would really benefit from a one-off small amount.  The main criteria for both the tablets and the money is that you will need to be disabled or a carer and be on an income based benefit.  Other criteria will apply.  If you are interested and need help please telephone the main office, mobile, text (numbers above) or email enquiries@dialsouthessex.co.uk between 10am – 3pm Monday to Friday.  There is no closing date for this part of the project – however DIAL will notify on their website and Facebook page when this is unavailable.

DIAL will continue to do as much as they can working from home but will keep people updated through our Facebook page at DIAL South Essex and their website at www.dialsouthessex.co.uk

DIAL hope this will still help a large number of people and we hope to get back to full service as soon as possible.
