IKEA Supports Families in Thurrock

Thurrock CVS alongside other organisations as part of the Stronger Together Partnership have received a fantastic donation from local retailer IKEA.

Families moving into the Thurrock area from Afghanistan were in need of basic household linens, cutlery and crockery.  On hearing this, IKEA Thurrock was more than happy to donate items from the local store.

IKEA Thurrock’s Local Marketing Specialist, Suzanne Phipps said “Whilst we cannot always make financial donations, helping local Thurrock families with some of the products we have in store is a different story.  Knowing that many of the Afghan families have so little, it really felt like a worthwhile initiative to be involved with”

Kristina Jackson, Thurrock CVS’ Chief Executive Officer said “Financial donations are always sought to help support people in need, however, sometimes it is more about basics. With support from local business like IKEA Thurrock answering our call for help, we continue to support residents across the borough.”
