With Christmas fast approaching, Thurrock Foodbank were urgently calling for volunteers to help assist making 150+ hampers for vulnerable families who had been identified by local organisations. Our Thurrock Food Network Coordinator, Jaymie and ngage Volunteer Coordinator, Lourdette sprung into action to help source local volunteers to support the cause.
Thurrock Foodbank’s operations director Peter Newall said:
“I just want to say a personal thank you to Jaymie-Lee and Lourdette for their help organising the hamper volunteers. The help received was overwhelming.
“Last Thursday we didn’t know how we were going to manage making 150+ hampers and you all stepped up and helped out. It was an unbelievable sight to witness the community in action, it certainly was ‘Stronger Together’
“It was also lovely that the mayor popped in on an unscheduled visit to make her donation and saw the community in action.
“Thank you all again so much it really was appreciated, and will make such a difference to those in need across our community”
