At the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Understanding the triangle of fire
- Fire Marshalls duties
- Risk assessing
- Identifying hazards
- Evacuations
- Understand the legal duties which are placed upon the employer and the employee recognise fire risks within the workplace and home
- Understand and be able to practise basic fire precaution control measure
- Be fully conversant with the organisation’s fire procedure
- Understand the need to maintain and control fire exits and evacuation routes
- Understand, use, and create a Fire emergency plan
- Be able to identify the various types of fire extinguisher used in their organisation
- Knowledge of types of fire extinguishers
- How to operate, and use, the correct type of extinguisher
- Understand the toxic nature of smoke in confined fire situations.
This course is pitched at a basic level and assumes that no special activities or conditions exist which increase the risk of fire. If such specialised activities or conditions do exist, tailored training will be required. Please contact vanessa.bennett@thurrockcvs.org to discuss these requirements.
