
AGE WELL EAST BEFRIENDING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
- Face to face long term befriending in the home supporting:
- Housebound
- Long term health conditions
- Mobility issues
- Dementia
- Poor mental health reducing access to the community
- Unpaid carers unable to leave the person they are supporting alone
- Sensory impairments
- Telephone long term befriending supporting:
- Housebound
- Long term health problems
- Mobility issues
- Dementia
- Poor mental health reducing access to the community
- Unpaid carers unable to leave the person they are supporting alone
- Sensory impairments
- Community Companion working with the client on an agreed action plan for 6-12 weeks, supporting:
- Clients who want to attend community activities but too anxious to go alone
- Clients wanting to increase their social opportunities
- Clients wanting to increase their confidence in meeting new people
- After 12 weeks the client can rerefer back into our service if required
- *Friendship Coffee Morning Host
- A small weekly Age Well East friendship coffee morning hosted by a volunteer
- Clients will have the opportunity to meet other Age Well East clients in their local community in a safe and non-judgemental space
