
On Monday 13th November Thurrock CVS hosted a Gambling Harm Awareness event at The Beehive Resource Centre, held during Gambling Harm Awareness Week (13th – 19th November).
We invited all Voluntary, Community & Statutory partners to join us to think about what we can all do to reduce gambling harm and better support individuals and families impacted by gambling.
This was an informative, well attended and successful event.
Attendees learnt about the impact of gambling harm by Dr Kishan Patel of Gambling Harm UK.
John Gilham of Gambling Harm UK shared his story – How gambling impacted my life. This tells the story of his sons addiction and the impact on the family.
East of England NHS and Inclusion gave a presentation on the support and treatment available to Gambling harm addicts and their families.
People from the voluntary sector and statutory Sector plan to looking at what can be done to reduce gambling harm in Thurrock.
