Thurrock Swimming Club sent a large team to the Essex Winter Championships. The swimmers who train at Blackshots Leisure Centre in Grays with Impulse Leisure had a great meet and the performed exceptionally well. The team gained many medals and final positions as well as more qualifying times for this years National Winter Championships.
Joshua Shepherd won the Men’s 50, 100 free, 50 & 100 back and 100 fly, 3rd 200 fly, whilst Henry Dean won the 50 fly, 2nd on the 100 and 200 fly, 6th 50 free, 8th 100 free. Ethan Martin finished 2nd behind Joshua in the 50 free, 6th in the 100 free. Louise Webster had a fantastic weekend just missing out on medals 4th in the 200fly and 400IM, 7th 200 IM, 8th 100 fly. Elise Delapperall finished 4th in the open 50 fly. Kai Patel had a great weekend finishing 3rd in the junior 100 & 200 breast, 5th in the 400IM, 7th 200IM, 8th 50 breast. Ivan Ijomoni achieved all best times finishing 7th in the junior 400IM, 8th 200fly. Jeremy Godwin came 8th in the junior 200 breast & 4th in the 50 breast. Zak Walker had a great weekend finishing 3rd in the junior 200 fly, 4th 100 fly, 5th in the junior 200 breast, 6th 100 breast & fly, 7th 50 breast & 50 fly & 8th 200 free. Isabella DaSIlva was 5th in the junior 200 free & 4th in the 400 free. Ayobami Akindele. Freddie Gardner finished 4th in the open 100 free & 100 back, 6th 50 back, 7th 200 back & 200 free. Jenson Hurrell finished 4th in the open 50 back. Daniel Thompson finished 4th in the 1500 free, 5th 200 fly. Tobi Olajide finished 8th in the junior 100 fly & 5th 50 fly. Ose Ojiekhudu finished 6th in the junior 50 fly. Arianna Tverijonas, sla Cotter, Oba Bankole, David Ionescu, Sam Allen, Sophie Bilham, Riley Allen, George Church also had a great weekend achieving personal best times.
