Thurrock Coalition invite you to attend Autism Action Workshops

The Thurrock Disability Partnership Board reconvened in July 2024, with Autism identified as one of the key focus areas by the core board.
In response, Thurrock Council asked Thurrock Coalition to support the review of the Autism strategy, which was last updated for the period 2014-2018.

Thurrock Coalition is a user-led organisation (ULO), meaning it is predominantly run by individuals who identify as having some sort of impairment and may use care and/or support services.
We gather the views of local people who use services, ensuring they actively shape and influence the policies and strategies of Thurrock Council’s Adult Social Care department.

As part of reviewing the strategy, Thurrock Coalition will be speaking to people with Autism, their families, carers and other relevant stakeholders and will be holding a series of in-person workshops. The workshops will be taking place, with discussions based on the six key priorities as per the National Autism Strategy and any other information that is relevant to you.

Thurrock Coalition would like to invite you to attend the workshops that will be taking place every Monday from the 28th of October – 2nd of December 2024.

We want people to attend and listen to the Autism community’s experiences of the different areas“.

This will hopefully provide learning for everyone and will inform the final strategy, which is due to be completed early next year.

In addition to this, Thurrock Coalition would like to hear from you if there are any opportunities to engage with Adults, young people and/or or their families.
We understand that some people may want to share their stories and discuss solutions using alternative methods with their views on how to improve the strategy.
