Thurrock CVS (Thurrock Community and Voluntary Services) is a membership organisation that supports, develops and promotes the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector in Thurrock.
There are currently around 500 voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise groups in Thurrock. These vary considerably in size and scope ranging from a small volunteer led and run community groups to large organisations employing many staff and providing services to significant numbers of local people.
We support these organisations by working behind the scenes to ensure the long term future of essential services delivered by the voluntary sector. Much of the work that TCVS does focuses on several key areas:
- Services and support
- Development work
- Capacity building
- Liaison
- Representation and advocacy
- Strategic partnerships
As well as providing free advice and guidance to our member organisations on issues from HR and governance to finance and fundraising, we provide a number of paid for services including access to meeting rooms, equipment, training courses, a complete finance, and payroll service.
We also run events and forums for the voluntary sector in Thurrock, publish a weekly newsletter and regular e-bulletins packed with information and news.
