Our Story
The Thurrock Community Fund (TCF) was established on 4 June 2024 to create a sustainable source of local funding, investing in the people, organisations and places that make Thurrock stronger.
Created to strengthen the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector, the fund brings together businesses, partners and local organisations to invest in projects that make a real difference.
We launched using a three-phase approach. Phase 1 introduced the Resilience Fund, helping organisations remain sustainable and continue delivering vital services. Phase 2 established Micro Grants, providing small, accessible grants to grassroots groups and community initiatives. Phase 3 focuses on creating bespoke project funds with, or on behalf of, businesses and partners to address local priorities and maximise community impact.
Today, the fund continues to grow while staying true to its founding principle of supporting Thurrock's communities. Thurrock CVS acts as the accountable body, providing governance, administration and guidance to ensure the fund is transparent, sustainable and responsive to local needs.
Together, we are building a lasting culture of local giving—supporting local organisations, strengthening communities and creating opportunities for the people of Thurrock.
