
The ‘Thirty Second Thursday’ campaign, is all about celebrating the enormous contribution Voluntary and Community groups have made in Thurrock.
Last month we invited voluntary sector and community groups to apply online for the opportunity to be selected to receive a free promotional video to showcase their work, and we are excited to announce the first ten films have now been produced! These will highlight some of the incredible work of Thurrock’s 350+ charities and voluntary groups, bringing in over £23m in combined income.
We will be posting a new video every Thursday at 6pm across our Thurrock CVS socials on Facebook and Twitter! Please look out for these and re-share through your channels to help raise awareness! Take a look at the videos released so far below:
Friends of Essex & London Homeless (FOELH)
Based in South Ockendon, the group runs a weekly soup kitchen in Grays and provides support to anyone homeless – and have extended their support further to anyone struggling with the cost of living crisis. With 30 volunteers serving 200 people a week, they rely solely on donations from their social media and website followers to make a difference. Find out more here: https://www.foelh.com/
Re-Engage Thurrock
They provide free monthly tea parties with transport for elderly residents in Thurrock who are 75+ and in need of friendship and companionship. They currently have 8 tea party groups with a total 80 tea party guests and 50+ volunteers. Find out more here: https://reengage.org.uk/
Essex Badger Protection Group

Friends of Grays Town Park

Riverview Charitable Trust
Riverview Charitable Trust have a wide range of workshops and are able to signpost Thurrock residents to local services and organisations. They’re very community focused and largely support families with their nappy and food bank and they offer activities for young people. B3 – Bump, Birth and Belonging
This specialist organisation supports Afro- Caribbean and minoritised parents with all things related to pregnancy, birth and parenting. They offer holistic, culturally relevant peer support, free counselling, online support and run 3 groups per month.

Based in Tilbury itself and established in 1919, the Multi-award winning Tilbury Band are a friendly, community brass band with many dedicated local players.
