Stronger Together Directory Launched

Stronger Together has launched today (Monday, 1 June 2020) a new directory for residents, organisations, micro-enterprises, services and community groups.

Kristina Jackson, Chief Executive Officer at Thurrock CVS and a partner of Stronger Together said: “During our work supporting the community during the Covid19 pandemic through the Thurrock Coronavirus Action Group, we recognised fairly early on that there was a need to provide vital local information in a one stop website.

“The purpose of Stronger Together is to connect and build communities, highlighting information, strengths and local assets within the borough.

“The directory will be administered by Thurrock CVS but will hold details of all the partner organisation which make up Stronger Together. The listings within the directory will be owned, updated and managed by individuals and local groups or organisations.

“A simple process of creating an account and adding a listing will enable smaller organisations to have a micro-site of information about what a group does, where and when they operate as well as contact details.

“We’re on a mission to support people to help themselves. With a new normal heading our way, we know that our current level of support is unsustainable long-term. We have to do what we can now, to help people in the future.”

The new website is easy-to-use, where you can search for information across a range of
categories, like health and well-being, funding opportunities, faith, children and family and micro enterprises + many more or if you’re looking for something local to your home, you can search by area.

We’re calling on residents, groups, organisations, clubs, teams, micro-enterprises, to upload information about their services and events online for free, today, creating a wealth of resources supporting local people.
