The Community Organisations Cost of Living Fund

The fund will support charities and community organisations in England which provide critical cost of living services for those struggling with rising costs and increased demand. It is focused on small and medium sized organisations, but national organisations can apply where they can demonstrate local impact.

Your organisation can apply if you provide at least one of these critical services to low-income households and individuals:

  • Food and emergency supplies
  • Emergency shelter
  • Safe spaces
  • Warmth
  • Financial or housing advice

Mid and South Essex Mental Health Inequalities Programme

The Fund was set up by NHS Mid and South Essex to support marginalised communities, helping to address health inequalities for people who have mental health problems, and is managed by Essex Community Foundation. 

It is for the benefit of residents of the following areas: Basildon, Braintree, Brentwood, Castle Point, Chelmsford, Maldon, Rochford, Southend-On-Sea, and Thurrock

Grants of between £5,000 and £20,000 are available to not-for-profit groups and organisations working in Mid & South Essex.

Domestic Abuse Evaluation Accelerator Fund

To support the roll-out of domestic abuse programmes and to pair these with rigorous evaluations.We invite proposals for programmes or interventions, and are exclusively seeking applications for proposals that align with one of four key intervention areas:  

  1. Perpetrator programmes 
  2. Preventative and early intervention programmes 
  3. Therapeutic interventions
  4. Workforce programmes to build knowledge and skills and improve practice on domestic abuse.

Applications can be submitted by local authorities, charities, third sector organisations, universities, social enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which will act as the beneficiary of the funds and will oversee the delivery of the programme. We can only accept applications from legally constituted organisations, and not from individuals. Organisations do not have to be based in England but the programme delivery must take place in England.

Million Hours Fund

Up to £3 million is available through The National Lottery Community Fund’s (TNLCF’s) Awards for All England programme this summer thanks to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and National Lottery players.
It welcomes applications for projects that will support young people primarily aged 11 to 18 (and up to 25 for young people with special educational needs and disabilities) starting during the 2023 school summer holidays. This funding will support a range of youth services offering a variety of positive activities for young people in eligible wards with the highest reported numbers of antisocial behaviour incidents.

You can apply if your organisation is a:

  • constituted voluntary or community organisation
  • constituted group or club
  • registered charity
  • charitable incorporated organisation (CIO)
  • not-for-profit company
  • community interest company (CIC)
  • school (as long as your project benefits and involves the communities around the school)
  • statutory body (including local authorities, town, parish and community council)
  • community benefit society.
