LGBTQ+ Network proud to deliver Thurrock Pride again
Thurrock’s LGBTQ+ Network returns for a second year with their Pride event for the Thurrock community. After last year’s success, Thurrock Pride ‘25 promises to be even bigger and better, inclusive fun for all the family.
Thurrock Pride ‘25 will start with a ‘Pride Walk’ on 7 June from Purfleet-on-Thames train station, along the river and onto Grays High Street. This will be a chance for the community to come together and share personal stories on a reflective walk & talk, that will finish with a BBQ and afternoon tea at the Beehive Resource Centre, Grays. Purfleet based arts organisation, and Thurrock Pride partners; Kinetika, will be returning as collaborators.
The official Thurrock Pride ‘25 festival day opens on 14 June at 11am with a ‘Pre-Pride Brunch’ at The Wharf pub, Grays, with live entertainment and a special Pride brunch and cocktail menu. The ‘Parade’ begins at 12:30pm via Grays High Street through to the Thameside Complex, where at 1pm the official ‘Thurrock Pride 25 Opening’ starts with speeches and the raising of the Pride flag.
Live entertainment will follow throughout the day with acts including Charles M. Duke as Elton John, and the fabulous Allen Jay. There will be pop-up artists, street food, stalls, discussion panels, community workshops and a glitter bar. Then from 6:30 to 11pm, the ‘Thurrock Pride ‘25 Party’ is in full force – cabaret, DJs, cocktails & much more. Tickets are £5.00 for over-18s only THURROCK PRIDE 25 – PARTY – Over 18’s Only.
The Network’s vision this year is to make Thurrock Pride bigger, more inclusive, and impactful than ever before. The team are planning community events throughout the year to expand their reach – including to engage young LGBTQ+ people and allies through creative expression with a drama festival.
“After the incredible success of Thurrock’s first-ever Pride, we are thrilled to bring Pride back for a second year! Last year showed just how much our LGBTQ+ community and allies value a space to celebrate, connect, and be visible. Thurrock Pride is about community, inclusion, and joy— we can’t wait to see everyone there!” – LGBTQ+ Network.
The team are very appreciative to have the continued support of Thurrock Pride’s venue; the Thameside Complex – a designated safe space in Thurrock for LGBTQ+ people. Thanks also goes to Arts Council England, Riverside Community Big Local, Start Thurrock, Blatella Films, C2C Rail, and Thurrock CVS for their valuable support and funding.
