Revitalising Tilbury: Tarmac Teams Up with Sea Scouts

This week, Tarmac‘s senior leaders rolled up their sleeves and spent the day volunteering with the Tilbury Sea Scouts – a brilliant local group providing young people with skills for life.

Hosted by Jacqui Payne, Head of Infrastructure & Community Development and Manager of Volunteer Centre Thurrock, the volunteering day focused on revitalising the Scouts’ community hut and outdoor space. With tools in hand (and a lot of determination), they tackled overgrown weeds, cleared old debris, painted the indoor hall, and gave some love to a hidden bench and two canoe planters.

It’s amazing what a great team can achieve in just a few hours. The space is now brighter, safer, and more welcoming for local Scouts to enjoy.

A big thank you to everyone who made it happen, and a special thanks must go to Biffa for generously providing a skip to help with the clean-up!⁣
