Help Put Thurrock’s Voluntary Sector on the Map – Take Part in Third Sector Trends 2025

After another eventful period for the voluntary and community sector, Third Sector Trends is back – and we need your voice to show what’s really happening here in Thurrock.
Whether you’re based in Tilbury, South Ockendon, Stanford-le-Hope or anywhere across the borough, this is your chance to contribute to a national study that truly values local experiences. The research is led by Durham University, and they’re keen to hear from all kinds of groups – whether you’ve taken part before or are brand new to this.
No matter your size or status – whether you’re thriving, facing challenges, or just ticking along – your input helps build a real picture of how community groups and charities in Thurrock are coping, adapting, and making a difference.
It’s quick, easy and can be done on your PC, laptop, tablet or phone. More importantly, it’s a meaningful way to make sure Thurrock is seen and heard in wider conversations about the future of the voluntary sector.
So whether you’re part of a local sports club, gardening group, residents’ association, youth project, foodbank, carers’ support network, health service provider or environmental initiative – your work matters, and your insight is invaluable.
The study collected over 6,000 responses in 2022, and this year it’s set to be even more influential. While it spans England and Wales, it focuses closely on how places like Thurrock are shaping – and being shaped by – voluntary action.
It’s completely confidential, highly relevant, and only happens once every three years – so don’t miss this opportunity to put Thurrock’s sector on the map.
