
The UK Government will conduct a national test of the Emergency Alerts system at 3pm on Sunday, 7th September. All compatible 4G and 5G devices will vibrate and emit a loud siren-like sound for about 10 seconds, even if on silent. A message will confirm itβs a test. No action is required.
Emergency alerts contain life-saving information and should be kept switched on for your own safety.
You can opt out of emergency alerts. For example, victims of domestic abuse with a concealed phone may find it appropriate to turn off alerts. Find out more information about opting out here
