Local family man from Stanford-le-Hope, Adam Kortlandt is undertaking the gruelling 100-mile Prudential London/Surrey Bike Ride on Sunday 4th August 2019 and has chosen to raise funds to support Hardie Park, a place that his daughters love to play in.
Adam said, ‘I’ve put in the hours. With one big practice ride left this week I’ll be resting for a few days. My bikes have been serviced by Corringham Cycles. I’m topped up on energy bars, drink and tablets ready for the big day. I really hope people get behind me to raise cash for Hardie Park. It’s an amazing place to spend time with the children. Local, friendly, well-serviced and provides a community space for all generations.’
Rob Groves, Hardie Park said, ‘A variety of fundraisers have taken place over the last year or so, led by clubs, businesses, organisations, park users and the Hardie Park Team to install a super slide for the local community. The park also secured a grant from Thurrock Council’s Community Environmental Development Fund of £14,000 to realise the goal. This final push from Adam is much appreciated and we hope that local people get behind him. Prudential have a Prudential Ride London app that allows followers to track his progress. Some live streaming video and voice memos throughout the ride on social media will hopefully keep people on board and encourage further donations. We really appreciate Adam taking part in the challenge. The super slide installation is imminent and will be an exciting addition to Hardie Park.’
