It’s Small Charity Week

💬 Parents’ Aid is a charity that works locally, for and with parents and families at risk of social exclusion, to improve the quality of their lives. We achieve change by championing their voices and providing support services to meet their needs.

💬 The goals of our members are different we support them for training, keeping fit and for competing in a wide variety of Track, Field, Endurance and cross Country events. We also support by hosting all the schools in our district sports days events and also Mencap.

💬 We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide at least three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

💬 TCIL promotes the Social Model of Disability and will try to remove or reduce the barriers that prevent disabled people accessing the services they need to give them choice and control over their own situations and to maintain their independence.

💬 SNAP supports Essex families who have children, 0-25, with any additional need/disability. We inform, encourage and support parents so they can grow in strength and knowledge and become better equipped to give the best help to their children. The overriding principle of our work is to empower the whole family.

👏 Last year we supported 408 Thurrock families through a variety of services, including our helpline, Face-to-Face advice, children’s services, and information network.

💬 DIAL is run by disabled people to help with problems relating to any disability issue including benefits, equipment, mobility, community care and any other problems they may have. Experience of disability enables us to give advice with understanding putting us in a better position to give a quality, specialist service.

💬 We are a social impact organisation based in Tilbury dedicated to uplifting our local communities by providing them with various avenues of support to help them achieve their dreams. Our support is blind and accept anyone between the ages of 18+ for volunteering or to make use of our services, projects and accredited courses.

👏 Our doors accepted 1,235 people just last year, Despite having to close them from April 2020-March 2021. Our footfall in 2020 was 3803. This encapsulates people in the age range 18+ and some may be returning people and some new.
