| It is with profound sadness that the Thurrock CVS Board of Trustees have to announce that Kristina Jackson, Chief Executive Officer, passed away this morning (22 August 2022) aged 54. Despite fighting a long battle with illness, Kristina continued to work with passion, positivity and bravery. Kristina Jackson became Chief Executive Officer in August 2011 and campaigned tirelessly for the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sectors as well as residents in Thurrock. Under Kristina’s leadership, Thurrock CVS transformed, delivering many visionary initiatives across Thurrock including the supporting of thousands of people during the Covid lockdown to gain vital food and medicines. Quote from the Board, “Kristina was the driving force behind Thurrock CVS and put everything including work, residents and staff before herself. Regularly working long hours, Kristina was committed to her work and the Thurrock community. She was a wonderful, generous person and a great friend to all that knew her. Her loss will be felt far and wide, she really was one of a kind” “Our sympathy and thoughts are with Kristina’s partner Simon and family.” The offices of Thurrock CVS will remain closed today and tomorrow, but will reopen tomorrow (24/8/22). |
