On Thursday 5th June, Thurrock CVS, TCVS projects, and Beehive Resource Centre tenants came together for a joyful garden party in celebration of our amazing volunteers — though the weather had other plans!
Despite the rain, spirits stayed high as we turned the day into a lively indoor celebration filled with fun, laughter, and heartfelt appreciation. From games and activities to a dazzling magic show, it was a wonderful way for organisations to say a big thank you to the volunteers who give so much of their time, energy, and heart.
We were honoured to welcome Deputy Mayor, Councillor Steve Liddiard, who joined the festivities and spoke passionately about the vital role volunteers play in our community. He personally thanked each and every volunteer with a handshake and a certificate — a touching gesture that meant so much to everyone present.
The event, held as part of Volunteers’ Week, was a powerful reminder that Thurrock’s voluntary sector simply couldn’t function without its dedicated volunteers. At Thurrock CVS, we know firsthand that our work would not be possible without them — and we know the wider sector feels the same.
To every volunteer: thank you. You are the heart of Thurrock.
